Secure Transport of Hazardous Battery Materials – POSCO HY Clean Metal BM & NCM Precursor Project

This project was part of POSCO HY Clean Metal’s battery recycling and precursor production initiative. It involved the end-to-end transport of Black Mass (BM) and NCM precursors—classified as hazardous chemicals—using a combination of inland and ocean container shipping. As a high-risk, high-precision logistics operation, the project was executed with strict regulatory compliance and safety protocols.

Scope of Logistics Operations:

• Pickup from origin warehouses, regulatory-compliant loading, and establishment of hazardous material handover procedures

• Deployment of certified vehicles, transport documentation, and trained drivers as per hazardous materials regulations

• Inland transport followed by CY or CFS containerization and export shipment coordination

• Complete fulfillment of labeling, documentation, and packaging standards for both international export and domestic transfer

This project exemplifies safe and compliant logistics for hazardous battery materials. It also demonstrates POSCO HY Clean Metal’s logistics capabilities within the green recycling supply chain—balancing regulatory adherence, precision handling, and on-time delivery.
